Assignment One

Really Crappy Friends

I was at the park with my friend Nicole and we heard two boys talking. The skinnier of the two began talking about his other friend. He was going on and on about how his friend kept saying to him "You shouldn't date her she's a sl--".

The other friend was mainly quiet, just nodding to himself but he eventually spoke up as well. He began talking about how the third friend - who wasn't there, but definately a hot topic - was probably interested in the girl and wanted to "bone her".

The first boy threw a fit, started swearing, kicked something, and then got yelled at by one of the parents at the park for his bad language. The two boys argued with the lady for a moment, before they gave up and just left.

All I can say is wow. What kind of a friend would actually do that? I mean, thinking about doing something is fine - keep it in your head. But really, it's like your best friend. Keep it in your pants!

Weird Conversations

While waiting for my bus to finally get to the station, I overheard a very strange conversation. In the beginning I was completely lost – the sad part is, I didn’t seem to butt in at the middle. The conversation was just that random.

It happened between a boy and girl, and although they got on by East York Collegiate I hadn’t seen them around anywhere before, and they weren’t wearing the school uniform (not that many students here do that anyway). The boy said to the girl (let’s call him John, and her Sam) “So does she even wash her hair?”

Up until that point they hadn’t said a single word to one another. Sam looked at John, grinning “As far as I know, she doesn’t even bathe!”

I was really curious as to who they were referring, so I started paying closer attention. They began talking about this girl – who’s name they never mentioned – and about how she was weird and they hated her.

Just as the bus was pulling into the station, Sam said “So did you see that kitten?” And the conversation changed from this creepy girl to a cat! I was so confused, but they both seemed to know exactly what was going on.

All I have to really say about these two is this: As weird as that girl is, they can’t be any better off than her.

Very insightful observations.

As a side note - they were probably from East York Alternative.
