When I wear my mask
It gives me strength
Not that I don’t want you to see me
Just that society sees me the wrong way
However with my mask
I do not hide
I merely express
My inner self without feeling
The stifling, smothering oppression
That is pushed upon us
By people who know nothing
About us
Or about themselves
Which is why they don’t
Wont
Can’t
Accept us for who we are
They’re the ones who forced us
To make our masks
And wear them.
