How many times have you asked me this?
No not once, three times. Yes, three
Now do you see why I'm annoyed?
I go "grr" when people insist
On asking even about the most simplest
Questions at least three or four times
The answer won't change
Give up, go away!
Ask me again another day,
And the answer will stay the same!
You believe in a God! Congratulations!
No, not me, I don't have one
Religion just...isn't for me
Unacceptable?
Pish posh!
Why yes indeed I do realise
What God can do for you,
If you only believe
However, I don't believe
So please, leave me alone!
I go "grr" when people insist
On trying to convert me!
Can't I be who I am?
I <3 girls
States my pin
All my friends
Say it's awesome win
But when this one walks by
She has a little sneer
She says to me
"Drop dead dyke"
I roll my eyes, shake my head
Tell her that I don't like me dead
She laughs and spits,
Throws a fit
And it makes me go "grr"
That she can snog her man
In front of everyone
But I can't state in the smallest way
My own personal self
There are many, many things
That make me go "grr"
Most of them involve me,
Myself
And I
I don't like it when
I'm told my life is meaningless
When I don't follow a God
Or when I'm not afraid to say "yes I like girls"
Or when I get annoyed when asked the same thing
Over
And over.
I go "grr" when I hear about animal beaters
Homophobes
Racists
Pedophiles
Rapists
Murderers
See a pattern?
I go "grr" when something bad happens -
Mostly,
Because I really do go "grr" when people insist
On finding a different answer
I go "grr"
When people cannot accept
The answer for the answer...
In other words...
I don't like being questioned about me :)

i like it....it works and its better then mine
I applaud the sentiments and ideas in this piece. We need more perspectives like yours in our rusty society.
Now on to the poetry:
I need you to try the following:
Let the words create a rhythm in your head composed of syllables with stresses.
Now let each stanza follow that rhythm.
Not all poetry needs to rhyme. In fact, some of the best poems do not rhyme. For this purposes of this assignment however, I would like you to attempt a rhyme.
So, if you will indulge me, I rework your first stanza to fit a rhythmical pattern and a rhyme scheme.
How many times have you asked me?
Not once. Not twice. An infinity.
Ignorant people must persist
When asking even the simplest
Question.
And every time the answer won't change.
Not once. Not twice. They fuel my rage.
Yet I refuse to play their game
To just perserve their blinded lame
Protection.
Do you see and hear how I altered your verse to create a pattern of rhythm and rhyme, yet staying true to the ideas?
Now try reworking the rest of the poem to fit this pattern. It's a great exercise!
We have similar poems it seems. You and me both hate it when people repeat things... BTW thanks for choosing to follow my blog. Now that I know someone cares I'll put more effort into my work!
P.S
loved this!
Doug, I care too!
